Unfortunately from SIMS there is no automated way to import the Exam Entries. The data is just not in the api. So we have to manually create an export from SIMS and import that into SchoolWorkSpace / ExamsAssist
The Student Statement Of Entries need to be manually imported from SIMS
In SIMS Focus > Examinations
Reports > Entries > Statement of Entry
Select the Season and Group/Candidates
ensure you select Include Component Information
optionally select Fee Information All (useful for seeing how much the entries cost by subject etc)
Click OK to generate the report
Click on the Export Report button and select Tab Separated (*.TSV) and save the file
In SchoolWorkSpace in Exams Assist > Overview > Actions Upload Statement Of Entries
Select "SIMS Statement of Entries" as the file type, then Choose the file you just created
From SIMS there are now 2 methods to import the Exams Candidates access arrangements
Option A) Run a SIMS Report
Download the SIMS Report definition from here
In SIMS Report Designer Import the report
Then run this report SWS_ExamsAssist_AccessArrangments and save the tsv/txt result file somewhere (e.g. your downloads folder)
In SchoolWorkSpace in Exams Assist > Overview > Actions > SIMS Upload Candidate Special Arrangements
Choose the file you just created and Submit
Option B) The Candidate Special Arrangements tsv
In SIMS Focus > Examinations
Reports > Seating Organiser > Candidate Special Arrangements
Select the Season and Group/Candidates
Click Print to generate the report
Click on the Export Report button and select Tab Separated (*.TSV) and save the file
In SchoolWorkSpace in Exams Assist > Overview > Actions > SIMS Upload Candidate Special Arrangements
Choose the file you just created and Submit
For Xporter the Exam Seating will come in automatically from SIMS. If you are using Wonde or Xporter is not working you can import the Individual Candidate Timetable Report. This report is created in a similar way to the Student Statement of Entries.
In SIMS Focus > Examinations
Reports > Seating Organiser > Individual Candidate Timetables
Select the Season and Group/Candidates ensure you select all candidates
Click OK to generate the report
Click on the Export Report button and select Tab Separated (*.TSV) and save the file
In SchoolWorkSpace in Exams Assist > Overview > Actions Upload Statement Of Entries
Select "SIMS Candidate Timetable Report" as the file type, then Choose the file you just created
