This is an electronic version of the ‘Element Entry List’ which is a report that’s available in SIMS exams. This is a way for staff to check and approve their entries digitally. The Exams officer and Senior Staff are able to monitor and view these entries at any point and allows for dialog between each staff member using the ‘Comments Section’.
For smaller departments, HOD can quickly check the entries and select ‘Action’ and select ‘Mark all blank as Correct.’ Whereas larger department can go through the list marking the entries that need amending by selecting ‘Query’ or ‘Incorrect.’ A reason for this change can be written in the ‘Comment Section’ above. Once these queries / incorrect has been selected, the HOD can select ‘Actions’ and then ‘Mark all blank as Correct.’ The final step for the HOD is to change the status of these entries from ‘For Review’ to ‘Action Required.’
A member of SLT is able to search the entries that have been marked as ‘Action Required’ so they can either ‘Approve’ or ‘Decline’ the changes that have been requested. Once this has been done the status would be updated to ‘Reviewed’ and then finally the Exams Officer would action these ready for the HOD to authorise them.
A Great advantage of this portal is the exam entries are always visible to the member of staff which negates the need for the staff member to keep asking the exams officer for an updated Entries List.
