As both the entries and the Access Arrangements are all in the module for each candidate it’s now possible to identify per Element the modified Papers that are required to be ordered.
The first task is to identify the Special Arrangements that have been used in SIMS which of these require a modified paper that can be ordered from the JCQ website. Navigate to the ‘Action’ menu and select ‘Access Arrangements Setup,’ go through the list and select the ones that is require an order of a modified paper.
Once this is done only these that have arrangements selected in this menu be able to be marked as ‘Modified Paper Required’ or ‘Modified Paper Ordered’ all the others will be marked as ‘N/A – Not Required.’ This is a easy way for the Exams officer to manage this very important task.
These are also visible to the members of staff that have access to these entries, this is a simple way for staff to view who has, and what arrangements candidates are entitled to in their subject. This will assist staff during mock exams (if these are timetables in SIMS exams) as they will be able to view the candidates that requires a modified paper for their mock exam or even requiring extra time.
